Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Volvo C30 - Curt

Today on our 2011 Volvo C30 we're going to review and install the CURT Class 1 1-1/4 inch receiver tube hitch, part number C11337. Here's what our hitch is going to look like once it's installed. This is a completely steel and fully welded constructed hitch with a really nice black powdered coated finish that blends in with the under body of the vehicle. The only thing we're really have exposed here is our receiver tube and chain hold out. Going all the way through the receiver tube is our half inch pin hole. This is going to be our Class 1 1-1/4 inch by 1-1/4 inch receiver tube hitch that's capable of up to two hundred pounds of ton weight and a 2000 pound tow capacity. Next we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist your selecting accessories for your new hitch. more

Today on this 2013 Volvo C30 we're going to install part number C11337 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on the vehicle. Next we'll give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories, such as a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground is going to be about 11 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be about 2 1/2 inches. Now we'll show you how the hitch is installed. The first thing we need to do is remove the plastic fascia that's on the very bottom edge of the bumper. We'll remove two torque set screws from the plastic mounting brackets using a T25 Torx bit. Then we'll simply unsnap the plastic from the vehicle. more

Today, on our 2009 Volvo C30, we'll be installing the Curt hitch, part number C11A29. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Next, we're going to give you a couple of measurements to assist in sliding accessories in your hitch such as a ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is five and a quarter inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is ten and a quarter inches. For our beginner install, we're going ahead and point out our rear two attachment points, which would be the tow hooks built into the frame by the manufacturer. Next, we'll need to remove the exhaust hanger boltedto the frame rail on the passenger side. more
